Hawkesbury Best Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Just In Time
The four-year-old daughter of Justify, originally trained by Richard & Will Freedman, had her first start for Ciaron Maher, coming off an extended 431-day spell at Randwick (Kensington) three-weeks ago.
She was kept firm in the market, a good lead for a horse off a long break and although she began awkwardly, she ran the fastest 400m-200m split of the entire meeting when making ground then found the line well along the fence without entirely clear room.
She brings in better ratings than her opposition, the rise to 1400m second-up suits and the booking of noted front running rider Tim Clark, suggests that there will be good intent to be closer to the front than she was first-up and should prove hard to beat.

Seymour Best Bet - Race 5 No. 9 And Found
The first-up run of the Godolphin-trained And Found wasn’t as bad as it reads in the form guide. She was last on the rails in a race that was dominated by the two horses on-speed and she did run the fastest 600m-400m sectional of the meeting when chasing so it was no surprise to see her knock up slightly late in the race.
She has had 28-days between runs and a Cranbourne jumpout in between, which is a formula that saw her break her maiden status here at Seymour, she was four-weeks between runs and a Kilmore jumpout winner in between on that occasion.
That latest Cranbourne jumpout I mentioned was sharp work, she was in a heat with the likes of Maharba, Rey Magnerio (won at Caulfield since) and I Am Me. She went to the line with them under a hold and didn’t appear terribly out of place, at the price I’m happy to have a bet on her today at Seymour.

Ascot Best Bet - Race 5 No. 8 Territory Man
The debut victory of the Grant and Alana Williams-trained Territory Man was that of a very nice horse, who can progress through the grades. It was only a 1400m maiden at Pinjarra but nothing went right for him, he was slowly away and was exposed three-wide, no cover the entire journey.
He still ran the fastest last 200m of the meeting to get the victory and the long gap back to third indicates to me that it should turn out to be a strong enough form reference, with the second-placed horse breaking his maiden at Ascot nine-days ago.
When Grant and Alana Williams combine with jockey Clinton Porter, they are an extremely profitable combination, lifetime they are striking at 20.3% when combining and over their last 100 together, they have a 26% strike rate, with 36% more winners than the market is expecting.
Verdict
The three best bets from around Australia on Wednesday February 12, 2025. The Ciaron Maher-trained Just In Time can improve sharply second-up at Hawkesbury.
I expect And Found runs a strong race at Seymour off the back of a strong Cranbourne jumpout and Territory Man is a nice horse who can progress through the grades at Ascot.
